It’s true there are an abundance of races and walks these days and all for really great causes but the Connection Inc’s Wicked Good Road Race stands alone for its originality and fun. Not only is it nice to race in the autumn for the beauty and the relief of cooler weather, but what’s better than also getting to wear and see your favorite costumes; yes the participants in the Wicked Good Road Race are dressed for Halloween! There will be prizes for the best costumes, carousel rides, excellent food and it all raises funds for one of Connecticut’s hardest working organizations.
The Connection Inc. is a human services and community development nonprofit. Two more open houses coming up from some of the Firehouses who participated in our Operation Save a Life:

Beacon Falls Fire House is having their Open House on October 10th from 6 to 9 PM. With the help of a representative from the Home Depot they will be demonstrating fire equipment including smoke detector installation. There will be fire extinguisher training, a Get Out Alive trailer and at 8 PM a live fire demonstration focusing on how fast fire spreads and the need for smoke detectors and home sprinklers.

Also on October 10th the Newington Fire House will be having their open house. They are planning live demonstrations on fire extinguishers, a smoke trailer which simulates ”smoke” conditions in a room, discussion on the importance of having an escape plan as well the distribution of smoke and CO alarms to those in need.
