Still don’t have any plans with the kids this Saturday? Well, I can change that!

1. Head to Beardsley Park in Bridgeport for the 8th Annual Kids Day of Fun! This is an absolutely FREE event, with tons to do! There’s a bounce house with balloons, face painting, volleyball, football and frisbee games, water balloons, and more!

A talented 8-year old, DJ Bam Bam, will provide a soundtrack of good clean fun for the day. And parents, you can sign children up for a free haircut or shape-up trim! Make sure to register for the raffle; the grand prize is a Power Wheels car! It’s all happening from Noon until 7:00pm at Beardsley Park (directions here).

The Kids Day of Fun was put together by Kids Entertainment, which is a company committed to giving kids a fun and safe experience, promoting exercise and healthy peer relationships. More information and haircut registration can be done by calling 203-522-4454, or you can email kidsdayoffun@gmail.com.

2. Are you ready for Christmas in July? Head to Anna Liffey’s in New Haven on Saturday for “Liffmas in July”! Performances by The One Night Stands, Political Animals, Sean Rainey the Piano Man, Mitigue, and others will rock the stage all night, starting at 5pm.

The night will also feature a raffle and other prizes! “Liffmas in July” benefits Drive 2 Succeed, a new non-profit in New Haven. Their plan is to introduce sports from around the world to kids in the city, to keep them active and inspire them to achieve great things as they grow older. They’ve already started a rugby club, and it’s been a huge success! Visiting Anna Liffey’s on Saturday will help support Drive 2 Succeed’s new and exciting programs. You can get directions to Anna Liffey’s here.

I am ashamed that Erica doesn’t even mentioning that she is leaving the station for another job.
