“Chowdafest IV” is This Saturday!

Of course, this Sunday is the Super Bowl. If you’re like me, this event (which has practically become a national holiday) signifies 3 things, in this order:

1. Football. 2. Commercials. 3. FOOD!

Yes, you can usually look forward to a great spread at any Super Bowl fiesta. But we need to remember that not everyone is so lucky to indulge… some people are looking in their pantries lately and not seeing a lot of food. Well, here’s a great event to help the less fortunate this weekend!

1. Bring your appetite this Saturday to Westport for the 4th Annual Chowdafest! It’s a heated competition between 23 rival restaurants throughout the state.

Last year, more than 17-thousand votes were cast for categories like ‘most creative chowder’, ‘best soup or bisque’, and ‘best classic New England clam chowder’.

You’ll get to sample them all, and cast a vote for your favorites, too!
Chowdafest kicks off at 11-am at Bedford Middle School in Westport.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $2 for children under 12. All the proceeds go to a great cause -the Connecticut Food Bank, and they’ll also accept non-perishable food donations at Chowdafest IV! Last year alone, Chowdafest put more than 30,000 meals on tables throughout Connecticut. This is truly a delicious event for a terrific cause!
